About the Foundation
The College Park Falcon Foundation (CPFF) was established in 2007 as a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to providing financial support to College Park High School student-athletes and athletic programs. Originally focused on athletic programs and scholarships the CPFF has expanded its reach to include academic and extracurricular programs at the the school. Our goal is to partner with our Falcon Faithful Alumni, our community’s business leaders, residents and philanthropic groups to raise funds for programs that enrich the lives of our students.
How it All Started
The College Park Falcon Foundation was founded by 1963 CP Alumni Jerry Pollard. Jerry was a three sport athlete for the Falcons lettering in football, basketball and baseball. Jerry's cherished memories of College Park, where lifelong friendships were born and the values of courage, pride, honor and sacrifice were instilled, guided him to building the foundation. In 2007 Jerry realized his dream when the foundation began operation. That year also featured the inaugural Hall of Fame Dinner sponsored by the CPFF. Financial aide from that first year went to support several scholarships awarded to deserving College Park student-athletes. Jerry was inducted into the College Park Hall of Fame in 2012. Sadly Jerry passed away July 2, 2023. His vision of connecting with the past, supporting the present and investing in the future lives on today.
Setting a New Standard
In the fall of 2023 a group of Alumni led by longtime Falcon Football Coach and Hall of Famer Bill Kepler (CP-1978) vowed to continue Jerry's legacy and keep the Foundation alive. The new board has expanded the foundation's reach to include academic and curricular programs. The inaugural Golf Tournament in the summer of 2024 brought in close to $30,000. Part of those funds have already gone towards a new 5-person blocking sled for football with the rest earmarked for scholarships and grants. With an emphasis on alumni involvement the College Park Falcon Foundation is poised to be a cornerstone of philanthropy assisting the dedicated teachers and coaches as they continue to work with our College Park students.
